Getting Started

Welcome to the Arts Management Program!

What is arts management?

  1. a field of study providing graduates with the tools to create, develop, facilitate, and evaluate arts and cultural programs and organizations
  2. a dynamic program for students who want to combine work in an artistic discipline with management and administrative skills
  3. an industry with jobs including arts presenters, grantwriters, executive directors, marketing professionals, venue and festival managers, artistic directors, fundraisers, entrepreneurs, educators, arts advocates, band managers, and many, many more!

How can I learn more?

Join our student organizations:

  • 1770 Records, our student run record label
    • Students can enroll in the 1-credit course, ARTM 205: 1770 Records, which is repeatable up to 8 times. (This means you can stay involved with the label throughout your time at the College.) On occasion, students may also be able to participate as volunteers outside of the course depending on project availability. Visit 1770records.com or contact faculty supervisor Heather McDonald for more information.
  • Women and Nonbinary in Music Club
    • Visit the WNBM instagram account @wnbmcofc or contact faculty supervisor Heather McDonald for more information.

"The privilege of having such a phenomenal program coupled with the College's location in a city so immersed in the arts creates unique opportunities for us to directly engage with our local arts community. Through internships, volunteering, and guest speakers in class, we are exposed to the intricacies of the visual and performing arts in this amazing city."
